Angus Palette |
Angus Palette is published by Sand. Illustrations are by my sister, Kirsten Ritchie Walker and the cover is from a painting by our father, Syd Walker (thanks Dad!). One of the poems is about Mum's pinkies and there's a fantastic drawing of her hands by Kirsten so it's a bit of a family affair!
You can read the title poem here and buy it online from Independent Northern Publishers If you're in Angus you can buy it from Hoggs Bookshop in Montrose and the National Trust for Scotland's House of Dun - or direct from Kirsten.
"This is a sharp-eyed, keen-eared collection, not just down to earth but grounded in issues of identity that reverberate for the North's exiles and natives alike" - W. N. Herbert |

Lip Reading |
“Lip Reading” is engaging and pick-up-able…reassuringly postcard-sized – neither too worthy and intellectual-looking nor (the other danger) too “dumbed-down”… deliciousness that works for the reader…. It made me think of that entry in Virginia Woolf’s diary about “making sense of haddock.” Selima Hill

Garibaldi's Legs |
Latest collection is Garibaldi's Legs, published by Iron Press in 2005. “These intelligent, original poems are an absolute delight. Ritchie Walker explores the landscape of relationships and Scottishness with a warm, acute eye. Her poetry is full of love and laughter, but is never twee. Here is one of the freshest voices to be found in the North East.” Julia Darling
Available at Amazon, Independent Northern Publishers and now from the poetry section of Borders bookshop at Team Valley Retail Park, Gateshead too! |

Another name but still me! |
Mrs Thomson's Guide to Game Spotting £2
I know, it's a different name, but it is still me! This is the little diary of one of my trips to the Kruger Park, published by Leaf Books. Different name, different style of writing. If you find it funny I'd just like to point out that every bit of this diary is true - yes, feel very sorry for those who have to holiday with me! |
